  Observation. Staff certifications have not been verified on the ECE Registry website. (Resource provided)

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. One child's epi-pen has been expired. Life saving medication for this child is not readily accessible.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Heated WaterNon-critical

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

  Observation. Licensing observed water temperature to be higher than 49 degrees Celsius at the art sink.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. Care plans were not available for 3 children requiring life saving medication. Electronic resources to be provided.

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. *Personal bags belonging to the educators were being stored on a low shelf in the corner of the room near the art area. Adult personal bags may contain items hazardous to children such as medications. (This item corrected during inspection)

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. *The children's files appeared to contain all the required information with the exception of one file that did not have immunization status.

• STAFFING / Additional criminal record checksNon-critical

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. *A volunteer that attends twice per week has a criminal record check on file, however it is not specific to the facility which is a requirement under legislation. (CCFL to send a resource)

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. *A 2 step cleaning procedure was not in place. A discussion was held with the manager as to first cleaning surfaces with soap and water prior to applying any disinfectant.

  Observation. *Two of the observed children's files had only parents listed as emergency contacts.

  Observation. *One staff criminal record check has expired as of October 17, 2022.
