    Observation. The outdoor play space had a large adult dining table with 8 chairs around it, impeding the use of this area by the children in care. The License agreed to move the table out of the way.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing officer observed the following: The gate to the stairway to the main floor was unsecured. The latch did not line up and could not be closed. The door to the crawlspace was unsecured, giving children potential access. Please be advised that these appear to be recurring contraventions also cited on the November 2021 routine inspection report.

    Observation. Licensing officer observed an entry in the minor incident log book dated October 22, 2021. The incident described how teachers carried a child back to the childcare from Trafalgar Park as the child laid on the ground and refused to come back with the group. A discussion was held with the manager that this would be reportable as an incident as the child was restrained. A care plan has been implemented for this child with strategies to support the child to be successful in the program.
