  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Upon review of several children's records, it was observed that one was missing the medical insurance plan number.

  Corrective action. The manager said that she will acquire and record this information.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed two staff files. One criminal record check on file is not site specific.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

• LICENSING

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. Two staff working in the program on the day of the inspection. One educator's certificate was not posted in the program. The Licensing Officer reviewed this item with the manager.

  Corrective action. Ensure a certificate or copy is displayed in a prominent place in the community care facility.

  Observation. Four children's files in attendance were reviewed and all files did not have evidence of a Medical Practitioner's name or phone number available. The LO reviewed this with the manager during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including Doctor's name and phone number.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Two staff files working in the program were reviewed. One staff did not have a valid ECE Registry validation available for review. LO reviewed this item with the manager during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff who hold certificates are verified through the ECE Registry and up-to-date.
