• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as Family Child Care or In-Home Multi-Age Child Care, must ensure that the toilets and wash basins referred to in subsection (2) are on the same floor as the community care facility.

  Observation. Licensing noted that there was an IT educator working on the floor with the children who did not have a certificate posted.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff certificates are posted.

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. The second staff member present did not hold a valid ECE certification.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in schedule E of CCLR.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. The licensee had not obtained a valid CRC for the second staff member on site.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a valid, site specific criminal record check is obtained from the Criminal Record Check Review Program before the start of employment.
