A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. no record of emergency drill being completed within the last year.

Corrective action. Ensure that a record is kept for fire drill and emergency drill

Observation. A parent was denied reasonable access to a child, when they received a letter stating that they would not have access to the child or the facility.

Corrective action. The licensee will provide a written response to Licensing detailing their action plan to address the contravention.

If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.

Observation. One child enrolled in the program has medication noted in their registration forms. The details of when (symptoms) and how to administer the medication was not available in either a medication permission form or care plan at the time of the inspection. The LO reviewed this with the staff working in the program at the time.

Corrective action. Ensure medication prescribed has documented details of regarding the symptoms, times and dosage of use.

Observation. Children exceeded the amount of screen time allotted in the facility policy on a few occasions.

Corrective action. Ensure policies and procedures are followed by employees.

Observation. Two children not eligible yet for Group Child Care (School Age) in attendance in the program on several dates in July and August 2024.

Corrective action. Ensure children in care are divided into groups as per Schedule E.
