The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Care plan not developed in consultation with the parent for two children requiring epi-pens.
Corrective action. The Licensee said that she will develop a care plan with the parents for these children.

Observation. Five children's files were reviewed and one child did not have evidence of Medical Insurance Plan Number available.
Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including Care Card Numbers.

A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.
Observation. The outdoor play area has two gates that do not latch completely posing a risk to the children playing in the area. LO reviewed this item in depth during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure the entire outdoor play area is enclosed to ensure that children are free of harm.
11160 - CCLR s.16(3)(a) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Several closets and cupboards are either missing safety locks or are broken. These spaces house hazardous objects. The LO reviewed these items in depth with the Licensee at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to their health or safety.

Observation. The facility fire extinguisher was expired and requires servicing. LO reviewed this item with the Licensee during the inspection. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. Ensure procedures are in place to mitigate and respond from an emergency.

A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The facility fire extinguisher has an expired service tag attached. Additionally emergency supplies are not available in the facility. The LO reviewed these items with the Licensee during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are maintained and in place in order to mitigate, respond and recover from any emergency.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. The fire drill records were reviewed during the inspection. Several months were not recorded as being practiced. LO reviewed this requirement with the Licensee during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure monthly fire drills and yearly emergency drills are practiced and recorded.

Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. A volunteer in attendance during the inspection did not have a completed Criminal Record Check available. LO reviewed this requirement with the Licensee during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure volunteers have completed files including valid CRC's prior to being in attendance in the program.
