A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

Observation. There is a new structure added to outdoor play area that has slide attached and it is over 4 feet tall. There is not sufficient clearance around the structure and no protective ground surfacing under it.

Corrective action. Licensee will follow the guidelines from DOLSOP to address the safety concerns.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Review of 3 children files observed one child was missing medical insurance number on file.

Corrective action. Please ensure that all files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Review of 3 children files observed one child was missing name and phone number of medical practitioner.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children files are complete.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The following were observed during today's inspection; -Personal grooming items stored under the washroom sink and diaper rash cream on the counter in the washroom that were accessible to children -Two closets in the hallway need to be secured from finger pinching. - Thorns on the rose bushes in the outdoor play area were at children's level

Corrective action. Please ensure to provide a healthy and safe environment for children while in attendance.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observation. Washroom water temperature more than 49 degree Celsius.

Corrective action. Licensee said that water will be temperature below 49 degree Celsius.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. Review of 4 children files observed 3 children were missing pictures or digital image to identify the child in the event of emergency.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children files are complete.
