    Observation. Licensing reviewed four children's files. Three of the four did not include consent to call for emergency care in the event the parent cannot be reached.

    Corrective action. The Manager stated that the children's files would be reviewed and missing information would be obtained.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The fencing in the outdoor play space is beginning to rot in multiple areas causing boards to become loose/unsecured. The fencing on the west side of the yard is the most notably in disrepair. On this side the entire fence structure wobbles when touched.

    Corrective action. Ensure the outdoor space is in good repair.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. At the time of inspection Licensing observed: -A build up of ice on the facility sidewalk and driveway due to snowfall 4 days prior. -An inappropriate mixture of soap, water and bleach is being used as the main disinfectant at the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: -A tall shelf, holding a TV in the main play room is not secured causing it to be a tipping hazard. -The soap dispenser in the children's bathroom is requires some maintenance. -The procedure to clean and disinfect children's diaper change mat is insufficient. -Temperature sensitive food is stored inappropriately. -A bucket of dirty rain water in the outdoor play space. -A stroller blocking the path that has been identified as an emergency exit. The second emergency exit is locked and is blocked by toys and equipment.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
