  Observation. A cleaning spray was accessible to children in the washroom under the sink.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to anything that may be hazardous to their health and safety.

  Observation. ECE staff certificate was not verified using ECE registry systems.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that all staff files are complete

  Observation. The staff member on site did not have access to reliable communications equipment.

  Corrective action. Licensee to submit a corrective action plan.

  Observation. Criminal record checks for individuals over the age of 12 who were ordinarily present were not available.

  Corrective action. Licensee to submit a corrective action plan.

• A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. The individual who transported children to and from school did not have a valid first aid certificate.

  Corrective action. Licensee to submit a corrective action plan.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. In the designated outdoor play space (which is a fenced off area in the backyard) there are broken toys and scattered garbage; including empty pop cans. There is also construction materials, garbage, etc. scattered throughout the yard which leads to the designated fenced area.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that the designated outdoor play area will be cleaned prior to children using the space and the route to the designated play area will be cleaned by the end of the week.

  Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that she is in the process of obtaining criminal record checks for all individuals on site.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed two staff files. One Criminal Record Check on file is not site specific.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that she will apply for a site specific Criminal Record Check.

  Observation. Although the facility provides transportation to children, a transportation policy has not yet been created.

  Corrective action. The Licensee will create a transportation policy within one week. Licensing provided the Licensee with a resource.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed five children's files. Three of these files did not include the child's name and telephone number of a medical practitioner and three of these files did not include the name and telephone number of an emergency contact.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that children's records would be complete within one week.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed five children's files. Two of these did not include the child's medical insurance number.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that children's records would be complete within one week.

  Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that only staff members with valid criminal record checks would provide transportation to children moving forward.
