Observation. Water temperature in children's washroom was measured 60.1 degree Celsius
Corrective action. Please ensure that heated water temperature accessible to children in no more that 49 degree Celsius.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following were observed during today's inspection; Propane gas cylinder and garbage in a big black bag in the outdoor play area accessible to children; Hallway closet door need to be secured from finger pinching.
Corrective action. Please ensure to provide a safe and healthy environment to children while in care.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must (a) ensure that a community care facility has (i) emergency exits that meet the requirements of the BC Building Code, and (ii) a fire drill system that is approved as definedby section 31 of the Fire Services Act.
Observation. Fire extinguisher service is over due. Service tag indicates that next service was due on or before May 2024.
Corrective action. Please ensure that fire drill system is approved and valid for safety.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Expired food and insufficient supplies on emergency kit.
Corrective action. Please revise emergency supplies and systems to respond and recover from emergencies.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Review of 4 cildren files observed one child was missing doctor's name and phone number on file.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all children files are complete.

Discussion about putting a lock on the cupboard.

Observation. There are were 2 pieces of gutter laying on the ground in the outdoor play area
Corrective action. The Manager will remove these before they go out to play today

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation. The Manager could not find the policies and procedures for the facility for Licensing to review.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan will be submitted.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. The Manager does have a valid ECE certificate but it has not been verified on the ECE Registry website yet.
Corrective action. Please ensure that any staff that hold a certificate issued by the ECE Registry has it verified on the website.
