    Observation. There is a shelf in the nap room that is not secured to the wall.

    Corrective action. Please ensure this shelf is secured to the wall to prevent injury if tipped over.

    Observation. The School Age program attendance records have multiple days where departure times have not been documented for the morning when leaving for school.

    Corrective action. Please ensure departure times are noted every day for each child.

    Observation. 6 staff files were reviewed and 2 are missing criminal record check clearance letters and 1 has obtained an RCMP check.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all staff have a cleared criminal record check issued by the Ministry, not the RCMP. Manager explained that they have been applied for and are waiting for the letters.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following was observed inside: -a small couch in the large playroom appears to be in disrepair and in need of cleaning -the wall in the hallway across from the washroom appears to be dirty and the baseboard is missing making it difficult to clean and sanitize.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all areas of the facility are in good repair.

    Observation. 4 staff files were reviewed and 1 staff has an RCMP criminal record check clearance and 2 staff have expired criminal record check clearance letters. The 2 staff have already applied for a new check.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all staff have the appropriate criminal record check clearance letter on file and that a system is put in place to ensure that staff apply for a new check prior to their current check expiring.
