Observation. The water measured at the girls bathroom sink was 57 Degrees. Discussed with Manager that water accessible to children must be below 49 Degrees Celsius.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a cleaning solution spray bottle sitting on the table and accessible to children in care. The Manager moved the bottle to a spot that is not within children's reach.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Upon a random review of three children's records, Licensing observed that one child's record was missing the name and number of an emergency contact.
Corrective action. Ensure that children's records are complete.

Observation. Licensing observed two deflated bean bag chairs and the filler material has depleted significantly leaving the chairs flat.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (k) the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.
Observation. Upon a review of six children's records, the Manager informed Licensing that three of the children no longer attend the community care facility. However, the date the children stopped attending was not recorded anywhere on their records. The Manager was unaware that this information needed to be recorded on children's files.
Corrective action. Ensure that a record is kept for each child the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.

- STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Licensing observed that one staff's criminal check has still not been obtained. There is an RCMP check which the Manager thought was sufficient. Licensing provided education on what would meet the intent of this regulation and exactly a CRC is.
Corrective action. Please ensure that staff records are complete.

- HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Licensing observed the following:- - The table, where the children were having their afternoon snack, was not sanitized prior to the children eating. - The three children in care did not wash their hands prior to eating their snack. Licensing provided education that children need to wash their hands before and after eating. Additionally, Licensing provided education on the importance of sanitizing tables before children eat on it.
Corrective action. Please ensure that a program is established to instruct children in and to practiced the rules of, health and hygiene especially during a pandemic.
