A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. -Large play kitchen is not secured to the wall and can act as a topple hazard. -Wasps nest in outdoor play house. Staff stated they would remove today. Please confirm in written response

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 10, 2026

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

Observation. Manager's Certificate was not posted for public to see.

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 10, 2026

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon review of attendance, it was determined that there was 4 children under the age of 3 years from May 5-15. After this date a temporary placement was approved for the facility to have 4 children under the age of 3 years.

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will ensure this contravention won't occur in the future.Please submit this plan on or before June 10, 2026

The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. Care plan not developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent. In addition, the existing care plan does not have signs and symptoms, course of action, location of medication. Please review the requirements of a care plan set out in section 58 of the CCLR. Please note that care plans are required to be reviewed yearly.

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 5, 2026

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].

Observation. There was no file on site for the Manager.

Observation. There is a bush with thorns growing within the outdoor play space, accessible to the children in care.

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 19, 2025

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observation. Hot water at bathroom sink, accessible to the children in care had a temperature reading of 51 Degrees Celsius.

Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before June 14, 2024

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Licensing inspected on staff file and noted that the Criminal Record Check had expired in March 2023.

Corrective action. Ensure a valid criminal record check is available at all times.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Licensing observed that two children's files did not contain an emergency contact other than the parents.

Corrective action. Ensure emergency contacts other than the parents are recorded for each child .

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Licensing observed that one child's file did not contain a valid enrollment date.

Corrective action. Ensure children's records are accurate.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensing observed that attendance records were maintained in a manner which made it difficult to substantiate the date.

Corrective action. Ensure accurate attendance records are kept.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (k) the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.

Observation. Upon inspection of 4 children's files, licensing noted that one file of a child who had stopped attending did not have an end of enrollment date.

Corrective action. Ensure there is a record of when a child stops attending the community care facility.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. At the time of inspection, the children in attendance were not signed in. There was no evidence of children being signed in since May 31, 2021.

Corrective action. Ensure a record of daily attendance is kept for each child.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. 5 children's files were inspected and two were missing enrollment dates.

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry,

Observation. Upon an inspection of one staff file, Licensing noted that there was no evidence of EEC certificate validation.

Corrective action. Ensure ECE certificates are verified using a system established and maintained by the director of early childhood educator registry.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Evidence of a valid criminal record check of the only staff member working was not available. A conversation with the staff member indicated that a valid CRC is available but not on site.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Upon an inspection of one staff file, it was noted that an immunization declaration was not available.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.
