• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. Licensee's first aid expired in March 2025.

  Corrective action. Licensee will take earliest available first aid training.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Cleaning supplies and fresher spray stored in the washroom on a rolling shelf accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Licensee said that she find new systems to store it in a manner inaccessible to children.

• OR SUPERVISION

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. There are five children under the age of 4 in attendance on some days.

  Corrective action. Ensure the facility maintains the requirements of Schedule E at all times.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. The following was observed in the outdoor play space: -The lattice on the bottom portion of the deck is beginning to rot and some boards are breaking away. In one of these sections there are nails exposed creating a risk to children in care. -There is a thorny bush accessible to the children.

  Corrective action. Ensure the outdoor play space is a safe enviornment for children at all times.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Five children's files were reviewed. Two did not contain the names and numbers for emergency contacts.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete.
