A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. A review of the emergency food supplies and they are expired in May and June 2025.

Corrective action. Ensure that emergency food to respond to and recover from an emergency are maintained.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. two children do not have immunization status and one does not have a medical insurance plan number.

Corrective action. Ensure that a record showing immunization status and medical insurance plan number is obtained for each child.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Daily attendance was not available for review. The Manager said it was taken to the other site and the attendance for yesterday was not taken

Corrective action. Ensure that a record of time of arrival, departure and whether a child is absent is maintained.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. two children did not have the telephone number for one parent or the name and telephone number for a medical practitioner.

Corrective action. Ensure that each child has a record of the name and telephone numbers for the parents and the name and contact numbers for the medical practitioner.

The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

Observation. Two criminal record checks for persons over the age of 12 living on the premise are not available.

Corrective action. Ensure that criminal record checks for all persons over the age of 12 living on the premise are obtained.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. The Managers criminal record check was not available for review

Corrective action. Ensure that a criminal record check is available.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. The ECE certificate does not have evidence it was verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.

Corrective action. Ensure that each certificate is verified and a copy is obtained

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. Upon review of the staff file, the verification of the ECE certificate was missing.

Corrective action. Manager said that she will obtain the verification today and will send a copy to Licensing.
