  Observation. The water temperature was above 49 degrees celsius.

  Corrective action. The licensee will regulate the water so it is below 49 degrees celsius.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. The emergency kit supplies had expired food dated to February and March 2026.

  Corrective action. The licensee will add new food to the kit and ensure there are enough supplies for all children/staff during an emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed a pair of adult scissors in washroom drawer accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to anything that may be hazardous to children in care.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Licensing observed multiple shelving units in the play area that were not secured or anchored and there were boxes stored on the top. There is a potential risk of injuries if shelving units fall in the event of earthquake etc.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided to children at all times.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (b) a wash basin.

  Observation. Licensing observed that diaper change area was relocated and it was not close to a wash basin.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that a sturdy surface for diaper change that is located away from food preparation and next to a wash basin and a covered container for soiled diapers.

  Observation. Licensing observed that fire extinguisher was over due for annual service.The last service date was July 26, 2020.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to have an adequate emergency plan in place to mitigate, respond and to recover from any emergency situation.
