A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The facility fire extinguisher was overdue for annual servicing.
Corrective action. The licensee said she will obtain a new extinguisher for the facility.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.
Observation. The licensee said that they have not practiced implementing the facility emergency plan.
Corrective action. LO and Licensee discussed the intent of practicing the plan annually and the Licensee said she will implement and record the drill.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. During inspection the blinds were down and accessible to the children posing an entanglement risk. These blinds are older and may continue to pose a safety risk to the children in care.
Corrective action. Please ensure blinds are secured and are not accessible to children in care.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Fire drill was not practised and documented for the month of August.
Corrective action. Please ensure to complete and document fire drills.
13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
