    Observation. There is a large doll house that has been placed on top of a short table is not secured and can act as a topple hazard.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the area rug in the facility was lifting at the edges posing a tripping hazard. Duct tape had been used as a system to mitigate the tripping hazard, however, at the time of inspection the duct tape had also lifted.

    Corrective action. Ensure a safe environment is provided at all times. If a system is implemented to mitigate risk, ensure that systems is sustainable and engaged at all times.

    A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.

    Observation. Upon a discussion with the manager it was noted that the children spend 15 to 20 minutes outside during outdoor play time. The facility's active play policy reflects that the children engage in outdoor/active play for 30 minutes a day.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children are given the opportunity to engage in outdoor/active play for at least 30 minutes a day.

    Corrective action. please ensure a record of minor incidents is kept. Intent of log book and proper record keeping discussed with the Manager.

    Observation. Licensing inspected 5 children's files. One child's records was missing a record of immunization.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that none of the children in attendance were signed in. The attendance/sign in sheet was inspected at 9 am while the children were dropped off at the preschool for an 8:30 start. upon further inspection it was noted that one child in attendance on a previous day had not been signed in either.

    Corrective action. Please ensure an accurate record of attendance is kept for each child which reflect the time or arrival and departure.

    A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. In order to respond accordingly a serviced extinguisher is required. The fire extinguisher within the classroom was due to be serviced on June 2019.

    Corrective action. Please ensure fire extinguishers are serviced annually.

    A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

    Observation. During a review of children's files, Licensing observed that one child requires medication for an allergy (as indicated on their file and the posted allergy list), there was no care plan created to guide staff in the steps to follow in the event that they needed to respond to an allergic reaction. Care plans must be created in consultation with the parents and be reviewed at least once a year.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is created for any child that requires any type of extra support.
