  Corrective action. The staff removed these when asked by Licensing and put them under in the locked cupboard

  Observation. There were very limited toys and equipment available in the facility. There were no age appropriate toys/supplies for school age children and school age children do attend the facility.

  Corrective action. A corrective action plan will be submitted.

  Observation. - The cord for the blinds was hanging down at the window in the daycare and is accessible to children as there is a ledge under the window. - the cubby needs to be secured to the wall.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  Observation. Licensing observed a large vacuum cleaner on a covered bathtub in the children’s bathroom, with the sliding door of the bathtub open making it accessible to children. The vacuum cleaner was close to the edge and posed a tipping hazard.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object of substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the diaper change mat has a hole in it making it difficult to clean. This is repeat contravention.

  Corrective action. Ensure that equipment is easy to clean and free from hazards.

  Observation. Upon review of five children’s files, Licensing observed that two files were missing emergency consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case accident or illness.

  Corrective action. Ensure that consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness is obtained for each child.

  Observation. Upon review of a care plan, Licensing observed that there was no course of action recommended by health care professional to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Corrective action. Ensure that care plans reflect the courses of action recommended by heath care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Observation. Upon review of three staff files, Licensing observed that one staff member’s Criminal Record Check was expired.

  Corrective action. Ensure that staff records are current.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed three staff files and one was missing immunization records. This is a repeat contravention.

  Corrective action. Ensure that staff records are complete.
