• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. The following was noted: -Castle climbing structure was located right against the fence which doesn't allow for adequate clearance around the structure. -Garbage container is stored right next to the play structure. As this is an attractant for pests and unpleasant smells, it needs to be located away from the outdoor playground. -Cubbies within kitchen area has not been secured to the wall and can act as a topple hazard.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. A care plan on site, does not clearly indicate when it was created, therefore unclear whether it has been reviewed yearly. The plan does not clearly indicate whether the plan was created with the parent (recommend obtaining signature by parent in order to confirm). Course of action is not clear as the information is hand written and photocopied. Discussed the importance of the care plan only being clear with detailed instructions.

  Corrective action. Please ensure care plan is complete - created with the parent, reviewed yearly and contains enough details to allow the staff to easily follow during an emergency.
