    Observation. Licensing observed that the flooring, in the Preschool classroom, has cracked and lifted throughout the community care facility.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following that are accessible to children in care; - unlocked cupboard under the sink with a cleaning solution spray bottle - tall metal ladder laying against some stacked up tables in the School age program - thorn vines in the playground (Corrected during inspection) - unlocked cupboard in the kitchen area with many plastic bags,and a tin of coffee grains. - unlocked staff desk drawer with 2 adult scissors and a container of tacks in the preschool classroom

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    Observation. Upon a review of two care plans, Licensing observed the following; - one care plan does not include the course of action recommended by health care professionals for the child requiring additional support. - one care plan does not have sufficient information on the course of action recommended for staff to take in the event of the child requiring extra support Licensing provided education to the Manager on the importance of ensuring that care plan clearly outline the course of action to take for any child requiring extra support

    Observation. Upon a random review of four staff records, Licensing observed that criminal record checks were not obtained for four staff. Licensing provided clarification and education that criminal record checks need to be obtained by the Licensee of the community care facility. Sharing forms discussed.

The Manager informed Licensing that photographs for the school age program have not yet been obtained. Licensing discussed the importance of ensuring photographs are obtained for all children in care.

    Observation. The following were noted in regard to care plans: -The course of action recommended, lack of detail around what staff need to do. - Some care plans were noted to not appear to have been reviewed in over a year, Manager indicated that they have been reviewed. Discussion had in regard to re-dating the care plan to show that it has been reviewed with the parent. One care plans has not been dated. -Some care plans are missing details around the types of symptoms they child have should they come in contact with their allergen.

    Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are complete and provide enough detail for staff to follow.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that notations that indicate what is kept offsite is updated when a document is updated (i.e. CRC, Certificate, validation, etc).
