  Observation. Many staff files were incomplete.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. The crib mattresses in the Infant Toddler sleep room have large rips/tears and therefore cannot be properly cleaned. The foam in the mattresses is exposed and may pose a risk to children. The facility staff indicated new mattresses have been ordered. The latch is broken on the cupboard containing cleaning supplies and is accessible to children. A storage unit/cabinet in the outdoor play space is missing a lock and is accessible to children. Large equipment is stacked/piled in the storage unit and could pose a risk to children if it were to fall.

  Observation. Some staff criminal record checks were not available to be inspected. There were no daily, monthly, or annual inspection logs being completed for the outdoor play space.

  Observation. Some of the food items in the emergency bag have expired. Some of the rest mats are in poor condition, and the foam is exposed and may be a hazardous to children.

  Observation. Some staff files were incomplete. There was no record of the emergency plan being practiced by all staff. The opening shift staff person has an expired first aid certificate.
