  The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

  Observation. There is a gate at the side of the home that leads to the playground. The latch is bent and if children push it will open. There is a second gate, but a parent could leave the gate open as it is not easy to see from the outdoor space.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. While staff files are complete, there is one CRC that expired recently. Manager stated that it will be renewed through the on line system.

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. While children's files are complete, there are some emergency cards that show the parent as the emergency contact. The emergency contact must be in addition to the parents.

  Observation. During today's visit, LO observed that a digital photo has been obtained for a child. Discussion took place with manager with regards to the child's medical insurance plan number. Manager advised that a copy of the information will be forwarded to Licensing once it has been obtained. This issue remains in non-compliance.

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed that the water temperature in the children's washroom exceeds 49 degrees Celsius

  Observation. In the outdoor play space, Licensing Officer observed that the covered concrete garden perimeter is exposed and poses a potential tripping hazard to children

  Observation. Licensing Officer reviewed all children's records. The following was observed: -a photograph or digital image is not kept for 1 child -a medical insurance plan number is not kept for 1 child
