Observation. Licensing observed when inspecting the nap room area children were awake, but were not being supervised or monitored.

Observation. Licensing observed a climber in the middle of the main play area. Licensing is concerned as there appears to be limited resilient material on the floor to prevent a child from injury.

Observation. Originally found out of compliance on August 22, 2023 Licensing observed children were again limited to very few or not enough toys for the number children, age and development. Licensing observed while there are toys in baskets in one room that are out of children's reach, these toys are also needed in the other room in order to provide modelling and coordinated activities for children in their play.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. The toilet seat in the bathroom has cracks in it, and therefore are areas where it cannot be easily cleaned. All surfaces must be nonporous to ensure they are clean. Discussed with the manager the importance of having a maintenance plan in place to address issues, not only as they arise, but also long term projects that could be more expensive or labour intensive (painting, outdoor space - seeding, replacing mats, etc.).

Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]
Observation. The sink in the bathroom has the hot water reduced so the flow is limited, while this does reduce the amount of hot water, the water is still above 49C. Discussed option to reduce the hot water tank - which will take 24-48 hours to bring the temperature down, or you can purchase a hot water regulator to be installed at the sink that children have access to.
