    Observation. On April 07, 2026, it was identified that a change to the site plan had occurred, and a notification of change had not been submitted. The Licensee requested more information on what to submit with the notification. Additional information and guidance on what to submit with the notification of change was provided.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Animal feces are accessible to children in the outdoor play space. To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of children the approved areas must be free of hazardous substances or objects. The animal feces were removed from the play space during the inspection. This is a re-occurring contravention.

    Observation. There is a change to how you enter and exit the facility from what was originally approved. A notification of any changes to the information provided in the original application is required prior to changes occurring. Submit by April 17, 2026, a notification of change to the site plan.

  • C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

    Observation. Children are not provided with continuous supervision. Children were left unsupervised on two occasions during the inspection, once when the Licensee went outside to secure a dog, and again while following their own child to the upper level of the home. Children were unsupervised for a couple of minutes on each occasion. To ensure the safety of children they must be provided with continuous supervision. Submit by April 13, 2026, confirmation that children will be continuously supervised at all times.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. There is a person over 12 years old staying at the home for several days, this person does not have a criminal record check through the Criminal Records Review Program. Any person 12 years or older that is ordinarily present while the facility is operating must have a valid criminal record check issued through Criminal Records Review Program. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation that all persons ordinarily present have a valid criminal record check or is not at the facility during operating hours. The fire drill was not practiced last month. Monthly fire drill practices are required to ensure staff are adequately prepared to respond in the event of a fire. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation that the fire drill will be practiced monthly.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. An illness log is not being completed for illnesses that have occurred while children are in care. There must be a record of all illnesses that have been observed at the facility. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation of how illnesses will be recorded in the future. Food allergies listed on a child's emergency card are not correct as they are for a different child. The name and phone number of a medical practitioner and a child's medical insurance number are not current. This was previously identified at an inspection and the Licensee stated they would update the child's records; however, this has not occurred. Current and accurate child records are required. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation and evidence that child records are current and accurate. Only one day’s attendance has been completed in 2026. Daily attendance records including each child's time of arrival and departure and any absences are required to be kept daily. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation that attendance records are being completed daily. There are no records of the daily and monthly play space checks having been completed for several months. To ensure the play space is safe and ready for use by children, the space must be checked regularly and a record made of these checks. Submit by April 15, 2026, confirmation and evidence that the play space checks are being completed.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. The outdoor play space is no longer fully enclosed as a gate has been removed. To ensure children do not leave the play space unsupervised the outdoor play space must be fully enclosed. Submit by April 13, 2026, confirmation and evidence that the yard is fully enclosed. Children had access to hazardous objects and substances including dog feces, Styrofoam, large plastic bags, storage and bedroom spaces reserved for the family. To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of children, hazardous items and unapproved spaces must be inaccessible to children in care. The doors leading to the spaces reserved for the family were closed and locked during the inspection, and the other hazardous items were removed during the inspection.

The Licensee is required to keep attendance records including if a child is absent. Submit by May 22, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that all absences are being recorded.
