  Observation. A child hit their head twice while in care and was taken for medical assessment as a precaution. This was not reported to Licensing. When a child is involved in an incident described in Schedule H, it must be reported to Licensing within 24 hours. The Licensee reported the incident to Licensing during the inspection.

  Observation. Early Childhood Educator and Educator Assistant certificates issued by the BC Early Childhood Educator Registry had not been validated by the Licensee.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. A random selection of child records were reviewed. One child’s registration record was missing the name and contact details of a medical practitioner. The daily attendance is recorded on Hi Mama. On some days the time recorded did not accurately capture the arrival and departure times for each child.

  Observation. There were more than two children under 36 months being provided with care at the same time during the months of October and November. School aged children were observed entering the school and accessing the bathrooms unsupervised.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. A child in care has a severe allergy. The care plan for how this child's allergy and medication is managed, was not available to be reviewed at the inspection. The Licensee stored various required facility records on a USB stick, however, there was no computer available to view these records at the time of the inspection. There was no record being completed once the daily, monthly and annual play space checks were being completed.

  Observation. Employee files were reviewed and some required records were missing, including criminal record checks.

• Has the facility been tested for radon gas?Non-critical

  Observation. Radon results have not been provided to Interior Health.
