    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. A container of laundry detergent was accessible in the children's washroom.

    Corrective action. The Manager will lock the laundry detergent away and make it inaccessible to children.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

    Observation. A child's care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

    Corrective action. The Manager will review the child's care plan with the parent, sign and date the updated care plan.

    Observation. Two staff's ECEA certificates were not validated by the system maintained by the Registry.

    Corrective action. The Manager will validate the certificates and keep the copies in each staff's file.

    Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for 3 children's files.

    Corrective action. The Manager will obtain the children's immunization status and include this in their files.

    Observation. Dr's information was not obtained for 2 children's files. Licensing explained that if the family does not have a family doctor, information of a walk-in clinic will suffice.

    Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and include in the children's files.

    Observation. Two children with allergies did not have a clear care plan of what the allergy symptoms are and what actions to take.

    Corrective action. The Manager will address this contravention.

    Observation. Staff's immunization status was not available in all staff's files.

    Corrective action. The Manager will obtain an immunization for each staff and keep in the files.

    Observation. A staff's CRC expired in October 2024. The Manager said that he has re-applied, however, has not received the results yet. Licensing explained that due to the timeline, the Manager should follow-up with the CRRP.

    Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.
