A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Six children's files were missing the child's immunization status.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and check the other children's files to ensure they are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. A staff did not have character references in their staff file.

Corrective action. The Manager will ensure staff's files are complete prior to the staff starting work.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one staff.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and ensure staff files are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.

Observation. One staff did not have a resume on file.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and ensure staff files are complete.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. There are 24 water bottles in the emergency supplies box, however, this is not enough water for 72 hours in the event of an emergency.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain more water.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. The fire drill was not recorded for December 2024. The Manager said that this was done, but was not recorded.

Corrective action. The Manager will record the fire drill.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

Observation. A child with allergies does not have a care plan that includes the course of action recommended by health care professionals.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and create a care plan.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. During an audit of the children's files, the following was observed: - Immunization status was not obtained for 3 children's files. - A care card number was not obtained for 1 child's file.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and include in the children's file.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. A child who was signed into Room 112 was in Room 113 during the inspection. Discussion was had with the Manager regarding ensuring children are signed in/out if they are moving from one room to another.

Corrective action. Ensure children are signed in and out.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

Observation. A child with allergies does not have the course of action recommended by health care professionals documented.

Corrective action. Ensure that children requiring extra support have a care plan including the courses of action recommended by a health care professional.

Observation. A staff did not have a valid criminal record check onsite
