A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed one cabinet in the JKC room was unlocked and had substances that were accesible to children.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. During inspection licensing observed the following: -In the ITC1 classroom, one edge of a floor mat was noticeably curled, creating a potential tripping hazard. Staff corrected this during inspection by securing it to the floor with duct tape. -In portable 5000, two ceiling panels had visible brown water stains and one panel was sagging with black discoloration on one end. During inspection the maintenance team was contacted and Licensing was informed that the panels would be replaced. -In GDC2 bathroom the heat vent beside the toilet was rusted in some areas and vinyl flooring in the GDC2 classroom had tears and cuts in three sections exposing the floor underneath which cannot be sanitized effectively. - In most of the classrooms walls, some wooden shelving, door frames at children heights are starting to show signs of wear and tear with chipping paint exposing the surface underneath.
Corrective action. Licensee contact said maintenance team will be contacted and a plan to address the observations will be provided to Licensing.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection Licensing observed the following in the ITC2 classroom: - Bag with staff's personal belongings which included cosmetics and medication was in an area that is accessible to children. - Yellow tape used to secure a foam pipe wrap to the floor was loose making it accessible to children. Staff corrected these two observations during inspection.
Corrective action. Please make sure that any loose taping and staff personal bags are kept out of reach of children at all times.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): In the infant & toddler outdoor playarea Licensing observed that children had access to toys that had a visible build up of moss, moisture and dirt. Staff corrected this during inspection.
