The incident log indicated that these products, as well as lavender oil, were used on various occasions during the first aid of minor incidents. Observation. During snack time, two Educators were outside with a group, and the adjacent door to the snack area was open, where a child was still eating. Although another Educator was inside assisting with transitions, the child eating was not directly supervised. Licensing discussed this with staff, and the child was then supervised.

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

Observation. Licensing observed that emergency preparedness supplies were sufficient to support both children and staff for 72 hours. The supplies were stored in multiple locations, including a storage room and outdoor shed, which made them difficult to access in response to an emergency. Discussion occurred regarding the need for accessibility and mobility of the supplies and staff noted that they will combine the items and store them in a way that is both accessible and easy to transport.
