Observation. Heavy items were observed on tall shelves in the children’s cubby room, creating a potential falling hazard.

Observation. Licensing observed that during group story time, one child was seated in a highchair, while the other children were moving freely. A discussion occurred with the Manager regarding this current practice. Based on the child’s age and developmental stage, this practice does not align with the Child Care Licensing Regulation, Section 44 and Schedule G. The Manager stated they will review this practice and make adjustments to align programming with regulatory requirements and to support the developmental needs of all children in care.

Observation. Licensing noted a small slide was placed over concrete. Some small foam tiles were placed in front of the slide for landing on.

Observation. The licensee had a care plan on file for a child. The licensing officer was informed that the child's medical condition had changed but the care plan was not updated.

Observation. At the time of this inspection licensing officer was informed by the licensee and two other staff present of a reportable incident that involved two children and a staff that no longer is employed at the facility. The manager learned of the incident on July 17,2024 from the children that were involved in the incident and informed the licensee on July 18,2024. Licensing was verbally informed of the incident on July 23,2024 during the inspection. No written record was available. Licensing requested a reportable incident. Staff informed that ECE Registry was informed of the incident,however were not aware that the incident is reportable to licensing. Licensing officer reviewed with the licensee,manager and support staff CCLR Schedule H and provided an incident report form via email.
