    Observation. The designated play space is located on a cement area adjacent to a cement retaining wall. The retaining wall is at the children’s height, and the sharp edge is directly exposed to them. This poses a safety concern, as a child could sustain a serious injury if they were to fall and hit the edge of the wall.

    Observation. There were 8 children present with one ECEA.

    Observation. The only certificate posted was that of the Licensee, not of the staff present.

    A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

    Observation. When the LO arrived to conduct the inspection there were two children awake in the playroom. The staff present had her lap top open. The staff indicated that she was working on her ECE, and returned to the lap top during the inspection while the two children were on the carpet. It appeared as though the staff was doing some computer work while the awake children played on their own.

    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. The children no longer have access to the grass area of the yard, they play on the concrete slab under the patio and out to the back gate. There are some toys and equipment present however, not enough materials/ toys and equipment to meet schedule G for all ages in attendance.

    Observation. The staff present was unable to produce any children's records. The sign in sheet did not have a date.
