  Observation. The wooden gate leading to the outdoor play space is dragging on the ground, which is preventing the latch from closing easily.

  Observation. Emergency food and water supplies are expired. Licensee stated these will be removed and replaced.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. The are square coloured mats on all the floors. The mats in the playroom that faces south, adjacent to the kitchen are showing signs of wear and age. These mats have cracks, tears and appear to be dirty and difficult to clean and sanitize.

  A record for each child containing any notification of a parent, emergency contact or medical health officer made under CCLR section 55 [notification of illness or injury] is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(g)]; A record for each child containing the name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(d)]; A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. Not all children's records were complete.

  Observation. The west side of the yard has a gate with several zap straps holding the latch in place, however, this is not effective anymore and the latch was difficult to operate. The gate does not have a self closing mechanism.

  Observation. The outdoor play space has several broken toys , ride'em toys, several other items that are not in good repair. There is a plastic round piece of equipment being held down by a bungee cord over, ripped tarp like materiel.

  Observation. The back fence facing south is very loose and can easily be pulled apart. Pieces of material have been placed in front of the orange construction fencing, however these pieces of material actually create an entrapment concern and the fence is not stable. There is an area in the south, east corner that has several planks of rotting fencing and loosely attached construction fencing.

  Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

  Observation. There were few toys and items for children outside.
