A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. In one of the nap rooms, items are loosely stored on a shelving unit that is beside a child's cot and there is a potential for these items to fall over. Upon notifying a staff and manager, it was communicated that these items will be stored elsewhere and/or securely before today's nap time.

Corrective action. Items will be stored elsewhere and/or securely before today's nap time.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. In one classroom, the emergency supply kit contains some expired food items.

Corrective action. The facility will ensure that expired food items are replaced.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): In one classroom, 5 children's sign-out times were not recorded for yesterday. Upon notifying staff, these times were recorded during the inspection.

Corrective action. The facility will ensure all children's sign-out times are recorded daily.

A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No instant ice packs in first aid kits across all 4 programs. Upon notifying the manager, instant ice packs were ordered online and will be arriving to the facility today.

Corrective action. Please ensure first aid kits are stocked with sufficient supplies.
