• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Licensing observed that for the months of October and November 2024, the fire drill was not recorded. The manager said that the drills were completed, but not recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the drills are recorded monthly.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

  Observation. A child's start date only showed the month & year.

  Corrective action. Start dates must include the day as well.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE-AZXQJ4 (21/Jun/2018). Children are signed in upon AM drop-off &/or PM pick-up. However, transfer of care to school (AM) & the licensee (PM) is unaccounted for on school days.

  Corrective action. Accurate attendance records keep employees accountable re. # of children in care, & assist 1st responders in the event of an emergency. If care is provided during school closure (PDD, winter/spring/summer break), a single sign-in & sign-out time is required. On regular school days, children must be signed: 1) IN upon AM drop-off (if attending). 2) If 1) applies, OUT upon transfer of care from licensee to school (children are in the licensee's care during transporation until the bell rings @ 08:50). 3) IN upon transfer of care from school to licensee (bell rings @ 15:00). 4) OUT upon PM pick-up.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): An employee lacked her immunization record.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Yesterday & today's attendance records weren't onsite, despite the managing explaining that it was done yesterday & this morning.

  Corrective action. The manager retrieved yesterday & today's attendance records from the licensee's other facility.
