A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there were loose cords accessible in the nap room.

Corrective action. The manager removed the cords and said she is going to install a shelf for the items which will make the cords inaccessible.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observation. Hot water in the bathroom was observed to measure above 49 degrees Celsius.

Corrective action. Ensure water temperature is below 49 degrees Celsius.

A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. Children are not using single use towels to dry their hands after hand hygiene.

Corrective action. Ensure single use towels are provided to dry hands.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Departure times were missing on a couple of days in July and August.

Corrective action. Ensure arrival and departure times are accurately noted on the attendance sheet.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. During routine inspection 8 children's files were reviewed and 3 children's files had a missing doctor's name and phone number.

Corrective action. Manager said she will discuss this with the parents of the children.
