Observation. LO observed no record of a September 2025 fire drill. Manager stated the fire drill was implemented however not documented.

Corrective action. Manager stated compliance would be documented moving forward.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. The fire extinguisher accessible to the Preschool was due for service in December 2023. There was no drinking water available to respond to or recover from an emergency.

Corrective action. Ensure that fire extinguishers are serviced annually and that there is food and water is available to recover and respond to an emergency.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. one child did not have immunization status or a medical insurance plan number.

Corrective action. Ensure that each child has an immunization status and a medical insurance plan number.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. 3 staff files were reviewed; 1 staff's certificate was not validated through the ECE registry.

Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete. The manager tried to validate the certificate but was unable to. She will try again.

Observation. The name of the manager was not posted on site.

Corrective action. Ensure that manager's name is posted in a prominent place within the facility.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager: - Outdoor play space: 7 inch gap under the wooden gate (by the shed); any holes or opening must be smaller than 3.5 inch. -Weaken fence, started to lean and rot. Manager said that the whole fence will be replaced in the near future.

Corrective action. Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.
