    Observation. one employee did not have a copy of a criminal record check. One employee had a criminal record check addressed to another facility. The Manager said she has applied for criminal record checks for both employees.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Drywall in Classroom was exposed and accessible to the infants. The Manager stated they were having someone come repair it. The mop and bucket was located next to the toilet in the Gym. The kitchen door to the outdoor balcony was propped open with no staff in the kitchen. The kitchen door to the classroom was unlocked and accessible to children in care. The Manager closed the door to the balcony during the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times. Ensure that the access to the balcony is not accessible to children in care.

  • HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. LO observed and discussed with Manager, re: garbage bins in all washrooms All garbage lids from the washrooms were removed. LO discussed re: sanitizing frequently touched surfaces such as garbage lids daily. To avoid children from accessing/ touching any soiled diapers, used gloves, wipes and paper towels manager will be purchasing extra diaper genie for JK room.

    Corrective action. Please establish a program in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
