    Observation. In many rooms the walls were visibly dirty or paint was chipping. In one classroom the carpet edges were beginning to fray.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the facility and furniture are clean and in good repair.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed a large play climber in the Group (30 months to school age) playground. The climber has 25 inches clearance on one side and 41 inches on the other side where the slide lets out. The Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe Play spaces discusses 6 feet of clearance around use areas. The resilient surfacing under the climber is a thin piece of foam and astro turf. Licensing also noticed one of the supports on the slide is beginning to crack and the climber is wobbly when shaken.

    Corrective action. A discussion was had regarding following the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe Play spaces to ensure a safe play environment,

    Observation. Licensing reviewed 4 of the children's emergency packs and all 4 had expired food. The Manager said she will go through the emergency equipment.

    Corrective action. Ensure that food used to respond to and recover from an emergency is not expired.

    Observation. A staff member used a raised voice, pull a child by their wrist, and picked them up by outer arms roughly, causing the child's head move backward.

    Corrective action. Please ensure behavioral guidance is appropriate to the age of the child.

    Observation. - Staff was unaware of a care plan and emergency medication for one child in their program. -emergency medication was not stored in the correct place as said by employees -Toys were being stored in 2 infant toddler bathrooms.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times. The emergency medication was moved to the storage area by another staff.

    Observation. -It was observed that the diaper change table in the Burrows room is missing the protective plastic cover on the metal brackets. - the water line to a toilet in the meadow room is pulled out of the wall leaving a hole in the drywall behind the toilet.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the facility and equipment is clean and in good repair.
