  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. LO observed two sand box areas in the outdoor play space which did not have covers, when not in use. This was confirmed by staff. Cover is necessary to ensure the area remains free of animal excrement's and other hazards.

    Corrective action. Facility to implement plan to cover sand box area when not in use.

  • HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. LO observed sleep bedding was piled on top of each other in the infant and toddler classroom. This increases the risk of spreading germs.

    Corrective action. Staff stated these will be separated.

    Observation. A record of the person's work history was not obtained for one staff.

    Corrective action. Staff stated this would be obtained and placed in the staff's file by the correct by date.

    Corrective action. Staff stated this would be obtained and placed in the staff's file by the correct by date.
