• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensing Officer observed potentially hazardous items—such as matches, medicated topical cream, and essential oils—stored in the washroom. While most of these items were kept in a high wall cabinet and in the mirror cabinet above the sink, older school-age children could potentially reach them by using a stool. The risk of children independently accessing these items was discussed. Maintaining a safe environment is essential to prevent accidents and support children's health and safety. The Licensee was notified of this concern during the inspection and was asked to implement corrective measures on the same day. Please submit documentation of the actions taken to ensure ongoing compliance to Licensing by July 31, 2025.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. Upon review of a sampling of child records it was noted that a care plan had been required for one file. Discussed with Licensee during inspection. A space to indicate any persons not permitted access to a child has been added to the registration package. Minor Incident Log, Outdoor Inspection Log, Attendance Records, Fire Drill Practice Record and Emergency Preparedness Plan Practice Record all reviewed and appeared complete and up-to-date during inspection.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensee's first aid certification has expired. The Licensee stated they are registered to take a course in March 2023.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. The facility inspection log for the outdoor play area is being maintained; however, the recorded information did not include days or times when the area was not being used due to ice or other hazards. On review of child records, some required information was missing such as "who may not access the child".
