February 24, 2026Routine Inspection Follow-up2 non-critical
- C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical
Observation. The facility has transitioned to a digital record-keeping system; however, there remains a requirement to obtain and retain written permission for the safe release of children. There is a risk that children may be released without appropriate authorisation if written permission for the safe release of children is not obtained, retained, or readily accessible within the digital record-keeping system. This may result in children being released to unauthorised individuals, placing them at risk of harm and compromising safeguarding arrangements. Submit by March 3, 2026, details regarding how you have ensured all required facility records are complete and the system developed to ensure compliance is maintained.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. The facility has transitioned to a digital record-keeping system; however, there remains a requirement to obtain and retain written parental consent authorising staff to call an ambulance if required. There is a risk that emergency medical treatment may be delayed if written parental consent cannot be promptly located at the time of an incident. Submit by March 3, 2026, details regarding how you have ensured all required facility records are complete and the system developed to ensure compliance is maintained.
January 14, 2026Routine Inspection2 critical, 4 non-critical
- C3.2 - Are persons qualified and appropriately replaced?Critical
Observation. Found the staffing file did not include evidence that the certificate was verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of early childhood educator registry. As per Section 19 of CCLR, a Licensee must not employ a person until all required documents have been obtained. Submit by, February 4, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
- C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical
Observation. A child’s file was not available for review, and an additional child present at the facility was not listed on the daily attendance sheet. Review of previous records indicates that there are already three children under the age of three enrolled and attending the facility. As a result, it could not be determined whether the facility is in compliance with the age group and maximum number of children permitted under Schedule E of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Going over the approved number of children under 3 years old compromises supervision, health, and safety standards, creating an environment where the likelihood and severity of harm are increased, and care needs cannot be met appropriately or consistently. Submit by Jan 22, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. A two month old infant was observed in a bouncy chair unanchored on top of a table outside. This is an immediate fall risk which can lead to a serious potentially life-threatening injury. Bouncy chairs are designed for use on the floor only. Submit by January 15, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement. Observed a wheel barrel standing up and leaning up against the shed accessible to children in the outdoor play area. Ensuring the facility is in good repair and free from hazards is important to prevent injuries and ensure a safe environment for children. Submit by January 15, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement. It was observed that the door to the licensee’s personal residence was wide open and accessible to children in care. This space is unlicensed and has not been assessed to meet the safety requirements outlined in the Child Care Licensing Regulation. The door to this area is required to remain closed and inaccessible to children in care at all times. Submit by January 15, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
- C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical
Observation. It was observed that the table where children eat was not cleaned and had leftover food pieces on the surface. It was also observed that there was a lack of available hand cloths provided by the licensee for children to use after washing their hands. Additionally, children’s napping bedding was observed to be stacked together with blankets touching each other. These conditions present health risks to children in care, primarily related to infection control, hygiene, and the potential spread of illness. Submit by, January 28, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Found a child who was present in care did not have any child file or personal information available. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires the Licensee to keep current records for each child so that in the event of an emergency the Licensee has current personal information regarding the child. Submit by January 28, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement. Found a child who was present was not signed into the facility with daily attendance. The Licensee is required to keep a record of attendance that indicates whether a child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. It is important to have an up-to-date account of who is in care at any given time in the event of an emergency. Submit by January 22, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. Found an incomplete staffing file missing the required Criminal Record Check under the facility name. As per Section 19 of CCLR, a Licensee must not employ a person until all required documents have been obtained. Submit by, February 4, 2026, how you have addressed this requirement.
