June 1, 2026Routine Inspection3 non-critical
  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

Observation. 2 electrical outlets are uncovered. This poses a risk to children's safety. The licensee corrected this during the inspection, therefore no action is required.

  • C1.2 - Does the licensee operate the facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care?Non-critical

Observation. Children are observed playing on a staircase located in the outdoor play space. The staircase is very steep, tall and has large gaps between each step. Children are observed leaning over the railings, hanging long ropes with toys tied to the ends, with children on the ground pulling on them. This type of play presents a risk of serious injury due to the potential for falls from a height, entrapment within staircase gaps, and strangulation or entanglement from ropes. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 3, 2026.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. Two child records do not include the date the children stopped attending the facility recorded. This is a requirement for all child files once a child stops attending. Submit a compliance plan on or before June 9, 2026.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

Observation. The facility and play yard were observed not in clean condition. The play yard had many toys scattered around, some of which were broken/not in good repair and the inside of the facility had many toys on the floor which posed a tripping hazard. Floor, countertops and other surfaces were very cluttered and require cleaning and sanitizing. It is important to maintain a clean environment to ensure health and safety in a child care setting. Submit a compliance plan on or before December 1, 2025 to address this issue. A follow up inspection will occur to verify compliance.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. The licensee has not recorded play space inspections since the end of May 2025. It is important to complete daily play space inspections and recording them serves as a reminder for staff and as evidence that is it being done. Submit a compliance plan on or before December 4, 2025 to address this issue. Five child records were not available for review, as they had not been uploaded to the designated area where files are saved on the Licensee's computer. The licensee stated they must still be located somewhere within her email inbox. The licensee must have all child records complete and available so the Licensee can refer to them anytime information is needed and so they can be reviewed by Licensing. Submit a compliance plan on or before December 1, 2025. A follow up inspection will occur to review child files.

Observation. There is no system in place to provide information to parents regarding food and drink given to children. Create a system to ensure this requirement is met.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. The facility closed unexpectedly for one week, which is classified as a Service Delivery Problem. This was not reported to Licensing. Reporting incidents within 24 hours is required by the Child Care Licensing Regulation. (CCLR). Submit an incident report to reflect this closure. While the Licensee is recording minor accidents, a system to record minor illness and unexpected events is not in place. Enhancing the current system is needed in order to meet requirements of the CCLR. Some child files were missing the following information: Medical practitioner information, sex of each child and photo of each child. Create a system to organize and review all child files to ensure all the required information is obtained for current and future enrollments.
