    Observation. One of the two classrooms does not appear to have an adequate amount of toys and materials to sufficiently engage 10 children and meet the requirements of Schedule G of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. It is important that children have a sufficient amount of materials that are appropriate for their age and development. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 10, 2026. The manager states that outdoor play periods do not always occur on a daily basis. It is important that children have daily outdoor periods to support their well being and development. As per the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice for Active Play, Licensed child care programs where children are in attendance for 3 hours or less must develop an active play plan acceptable to the Medical Health Officer. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 10, 2026.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. One of the two program classrooms does not have a copy of the fire drill system and emergency exits posted in a prominent place. It is important that this information is easily accessible in case of fire or other emergency. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 10, 2026.

    Observation. The manager states that staff did not physically implement fire drill practice during winter months. It is important that fire drills are implemented monthly to ensure staff are familiar and confident in evacuating children in case of fire. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 10, 2026.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. A shelf located in one of the program classrooms is not sturdy and poses a tipping risk. It is important that all furniture be sturdy and secure to reduce risk of injury. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before June 5, 2026.

    Observation. The staff have not been practicing the facilities emergency plan each year. While they discuss the emergency plan with children every month, it is important that staff physically implement the emergency plan with children at least once per year to ensure that the procedures outlined in the plan are safe, realistic and efficient.
