  Observation. The Licensing Officer noted that the diapering area was located inside a bedroom used by children for napping, specifically on one of the beds designated for rest. This setup is not ideal for maintaining hygiene and controlling the spread of communicable diseases. Although a designated handwashing sink was available nearby down the hall adjacent to the bedroom, having the washbasin separate from the diapering area may reduce its effectiveness in preventing germ transmission. During the inspection, the Licensee addressed the issue by placing a bassinet directly outside the washroom designated for diaper changes. The equipment enables diaper changes while standing, appears safe for the children in care, is positioned next to a sink for handwashing, and does not block any emergency exits. Based on the Licensee’s corrective actions, the concern is deemed resolved, and no additional measures are necessary.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. On review and discussion of required facility documentation, Licensing found that recording minor illnesses at the facility has not been consistently recorded in a log, children's attendance records identify the scheduled time for arrival and departure but not the actual time in and out, and some child records are missing required information. Licensing provided education and guidance regarding the concerns. The Licensee has a minor log available on-site for recording minor illnesses, minor injuries and unexpected events. Based on the information exchanged, Licensing considers this contravention resolved at the time of inspection. The follow date provided is the timeline for the Licensee to submit to Licensing confirmation the remaining issues have been addressed and any systems developed are updated to ensure compliance is maintained.
