Health & safety record

2 critical and 9 non-critical findings recorded since 2020.

January 14, 2026Routine Inspection1 critical, 3 non-critical
  • C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

Observation. There have been no significant changes the structure of the program since the last inspection. The program continues to operate in the most recently identified space within the school. There is a new manager in position, and the Licensee has not yet provided this operational change information to Licensing. In order to ensure that Licensing is aware of who the manager is, the Licensee is required to provide that information to Licensing within 30 days of the change. Submit the manager update information to Licensing as required. Correction to this contravention is required on or by January 20, 2026.

  • C5.1 - Are healthy eating and nutritional habits promoted and practiced?Non-critical

Observation. Children are provided snack by the facility. The Licensing Officer has observed that apples and popcorn are being served on this date. Upon discussion with the manager it is determined that parents are not provided information regarding food and drink given to children. This information is required to be provided to parents in order to reduce risk of an allergic reaction, and to identify potential causes if a reaction is observed. Develop a method of providing information to parents regarding the food and drinks served to children. Correction to this contravention is required on or by January 22, 2026.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

Observation. Upon review of employee records it is observed that all current records require further evidence of a minimum of twenty hours of training and experience. Group Child Care (School Age) programs are required to be staffed by individuals with Responsible Adult qualification, at minimum, which requires a minimum of 20 hours total training as well as experience working with children, the employee records must contain evidence of a minimum 20 hours of training. Ensure that records include evidence (certificates, transcripts, or other records) of the training taken as well as the duration of the training(s) to demonstrate a total of 20 hours minimum. Correction to this contravention is due on or by January 20, 2026.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. Upon review of a sampling of child records it is observed that care plans are not readily available, and upon discussion with the manager, it appears care plans may require development. Care plans are required to ensure that children have a healthy and safe environment that meets their individual needs, and that children who require extra support have it clearly outlined exactly what supports are required, and how to implement those supports appropriately. Review child records and ensure that care plans are developed for any child identified as requiring extra support in regards to an allergy, sensitivity, medical condition, and/or developmental or behavioural condition. Correction to this contravention is required on or by January 22, 2026. Upon discussion with the manager it is determined that the inspections of the outdoor play areas are not documented at this time. Documentation of play space inspections, as well as maintenance and repairs, is required in order to demonstrate that the outdoor play areas are safe for use by the children. Implement a documentation system to ensure that outdoor inspections are documented as necessary. Correction to this contravention is due on or by January 22, 2026. Minor incident records, attendance records, Fire Drill records, and the rest of child registration information appear complete and up-to-date.
