Observation. One employee is missing evidence of having completed a course of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition. A person must not be employed until the manager has ensured a responsible adult is qualified. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 04, 2025. Confirm by 15-April-2026 that this employees file is complete with evidence of course completion.

Observation. There is no evidence that the employees practiced the emergency plan in the last year. Implementing the emergency plan at least once each year will ensure employees are prepared in the event of an emergency. Confirm by 20-April-2026 with evidence all employees have conducted the required yearly emergency plan.

Observation. A review of six employee records indicated two records were incomplete. One was missing character references. The other was missing evidence of compliance with the Province's immunization program. A person must not be employed until the manager has obtained the required documents. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on February 7, 2023, and March 1, 2024. Confirm by 14-April-2025 that these employee files are complete with evidence of missing character references and immunization status.

Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed 20 children's files and found two to be incomplete. Both files were missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner one was also missing a photo or digital image of a child to be used to readily identify the child in an emergency and a medical insurance plan number,. Confirm by 14-April-2025 that these files are complete with evidence of the missing information added. The Licensing Officer observed a child's care plan has not been reviewed at least once each year as required by the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Reviewing care plans yearly ensures the information contained in the plan is current to ensure that children requiring extra support receive safe and supportive care, and to support employees to know how to respond to any symptoms of identified conditions. Confirm by 14-April-2025 with evidence that the care plan has been reviewed.

Observation. A review of the facility records indicated a day where 14 children were in care and only one employee. The acceptable ratio would be 12 children to one employee.

Observation. The Licensee’s system for ensuring that employee files contain all of the legislated requirements was noted to be ineffective. Licensing reviewed four staff files for the required records. Of the four only one file was complete with all of the required records. • This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on February 17, 2023.

Observation. A space for the the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility is missing from the children records. A review of the daily attendance indicated the children in the care program, at the time of the inspection, did not have their arrival time recorded.

Observation. A log for recording minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events needs to be developed. The daily attendance indicated several departure times were not recorded.
