A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. LO observed and discussed with the Manager, re: fall hazard A walkway to the playground ( in the corner) a pit of 2.8 ft x 3.5ft was identified. This open pit's depth is approximately 2.5ft.- 3 ft from the ground level. There must be a barrier to make this area not accessible to the children.
Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times when children are in care.

EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. During review of the outside play area it was found that an area located at the top of the walkway to the playground, presents a fall hazard. There is only a steel railing present with no barrier to prevent a child from falling from the space above onto the concrete ramp below.
Corrective action. Ensure the outside area is free from fall hazards.
