- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. - Electrical outlet boxes have been installed but several were found in the classrooms open with electronic devices plugged in giving children access to outlets. - Cords from electrical appliances have not been secured
Corrective action. Ensure safety equipment used as intended and cords are secured
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. - Several nap mats from the 3-5 classroom have areas where the plastic cover has worn away.Manager stated that new mats have been ordered. - A glass window in the gym area is broken and has been temporarily repaired with tape.
Corrective action. Repair or replace nap mats and the broken window in the gym
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - LICENSING
Licensees must not make any structural change to a community care facility unless the licensee first (a) submits plans for the change to a medical health officer.
Observation. The wall in the IT A room has been removed without submission of a plan
Corrective action. Submit a plan outlining the changes to the floor plan of the facility
