• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following in the cedar classroom: - Bleach and water solution stored on the counter next to where children wash their hands. - Cleaning products stored in an unsecured cabinet that is accessible to the children

  Corrective action. Ensure all hazardous substances are out of the reach of children.

  Observation. Emergency supplies are insufficient to implement the emergency plan.

  Corrective action. Ensure there are sufficient supplies to mitigate, respond and recover from an emergency.

  Observation. There was no repayment agreement available for review for all children in care.

  Observation. A random selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed, 1 file did not contain a care card number.

  Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Maple classroom: 12 children present, 11 signed in. - On various days children were not signed out - On various days there was no indication that children were absent

  Corrective action. Ensure there is a system to accurately record attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed a care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent. The Manager said the plan was reviewed.

  Corrective action. Ensure care plans are reviewed annually.

  Observation. A random selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed: - 1 file did not contain information for a doctor - 1 file did not contain information for emergency contacts

  Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

  Observation. Licensee did not notify the licensing officer within 24 hours that a child was involved in or may have been involved in a reportable incident as described in Schedule H as required.

  Corrective action. Ensure reportable incidents as describe in Schedule H are reported within 24 hours.

  Observation. 4 staff records were reviewed and 3 did not have a record of immunization on file
